Secrets and Mysteries
“All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them, That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, ‘I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world’” (Matthew 13:34, NKJV, 35, KJV).
“I will open my mouth in a parables, wise sayings, instruction; I will utter dark sayings of old, mysteries, enigmas, obscure sayings . . .” (Psalm 78:2).
“He told His disciples: ‘Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven . . .’ (Matthew 13:11).
Jesus revealed and reveals secrets and mysteries.
In fact, Jesus Himself is the secret, mystery and reality of God.
Jesus is the revelation of God. He is image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15).
Jesus is the exact representation of the Father (Hebrews 1:3).
What is God like? Just look at Jesus. He is God.
Knowing God is a relationship and a revelation, through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Secrets
Jesus reveals things kept secret from the foundation of the world (Psalm 78:2). Amen! This truth is fascinating and should inspire us greatly, even in the natural realm.
Truly knowing God occurs in the spirit realm, in a deeper walk with Jesus in the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing” (John 6:63).
How Do We Discover the Mysteries?
We discover the mysteries of God through Jesus in the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to us. The Holy Spirit reveals the secrets, mysteries and deep things of God.
Paul wrote about this:
“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory . . . God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God” (1 Corinthians 2:10).
