In His first teaching (Matthew 5:3-11), Jesus Christ presents the progression one of His people will follow if they continue on with Him. “Blessed” literally means “happy, fortunate, favored.” A follower of Jesus is happy because he or she is doing what humans are born to do on earth: walk with, know, experience, and, ultimately, fellowship with, God Almighty through His Son Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Amen!
