Jehovah God Almighty and Jesus Christ
The only true God has revealed Himself as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus is the revelation of God (John 1:1-13).
He is “the image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15).
He is “the fullness of the Godhead in bodily form” (Colossians 2:9).
He is “the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature” (Hebrews 1:3).
The Name Jehovah and the Name of Jesus
The only true God’s name is . . . the Lord God Almighty . . . Jehovah.
Jesus Christ is His beloved son (Matthew 3:17, 17:5). Jesus is the savior. He is also . . . the Lord God Almighty.
The only true God is the Father God Almighty. His name is to be kept holy (Matthew 6:9).
His is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever (Matthew 6:13).
He has given all things that He has to His Son Jesus Christ (John 16:15).
He has placed all that is in His name in the name of Jesus Christ. Therefore, the name of Jesus Christ has the same power, authority and dominion – and infinitely more – as the name Jehovah.
“My Father is Greater than I” (John 14:28)
It is an eternal revelation that Jesus Christ is both the Son of God and the Lord God Almighty.
Jesus is one with the Father (John 10:30).
Yet, Jesus revealed very clearly there is a difference between Him and His Father.
Jesus said: “My Father is greater than all” (John 10:29) and “My Father is greater than I” (John 14:28).
Jesus spoke about how we should fear the only true God (Luke 12:5).
In the Lord’s Prayer, which is a revelation of prayer, Jesus clearly revealed that prayer is directed to and completely focused on His Father – our Father.
In the glorious revelation, Jesus confirms and emphasizes the difference between His Father and Himself.
The beginning and the end of the revelation focus completely on His Father:
“Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed by your name” (Matthew 6:9).
“Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).
“For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen” (Matthew 6:13c).
